Full-Time Director of Youth Ministries

Fairhope United Methodist Church, located in Fairhope, AL has an opening for a dynamic, full-time Director of Youth Ministries. The Director will focus on and direct the energies of the Youth Ministry which includes middle and Sr. High students in missions, worship and small group studies.

Candidates should have experience in leading a variety of programs for youth, possess the necessary training and/or experience to plan, organize, and develop programs. This person must possess the necessary training and/or experience to plan, organize, and develop a program that engages other adult event leaders, the congregation, and Pastor in the activities of the church youth. The ability to facilitate and lead events that engage and involve all of the young people is important. Coordination with Director of Recreational Ministries and other ministry staff members is of critical importance.

We are looking for a person who in their own life seeks to love God, follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and who feel called to minister youth. The candidate must have excellent skills in communication, both oral and written, organization, and interpersonal relationships.

It is preferred that this person have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college in a field related to the work involved as a youth minister. Professional experience is preferred along with experience as a youth director or equivalent work experience in a closely related field.
