Worship Volunteer Descriptions: 

Communion Assistants: Volunteers needed each Sunday in all services to set up the communion table, serve the congregation, and help clean up after services. 

Ushers: Volunteers needed each Sunday in all services to greet members & visitors, hand out worship bulletins, take up offering, etc. 

Altar Guild: Volunteers needed to care for the altar, vestments, & vessels of the church. Altar Guild volunteers prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterwards. The Altar Guild Team also helps decorate the sanctuary for special occasions. Volunteer time is approximately one hour per week.

Wednesday Supper Volunteer Team
:

Menu Planning: If you like planning dinners and events, this opportunity is for you! One to two volunteers needed to help Katie plan weekly menus around seasonal themes or ingredients.

Kitchen Prep (Tuesdays): One to two volunteers needed each Tuesday afternoon from 12:30-2:00 to prep ingredients and goods for cooking the following day. Prep may include help setting up dining room for service. 

Dinner Prep: Three shifts of volunteers needed to cook the meal and set up the CLC Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays. Early morning shift 10am-noon, Afternoon 1pm-3pm, and 3pm-5pm. Duties may include ingredient prep, cooking entrée, salad prep, baking breads, plating desserts, setting up serving stations, etc.

Welcome/ Cashier Table: Two volunteers needed to greet attendees and manage the cashier box from 4:45-6:15pm.

Dinner Servers: Four volunteers needed to serve meal from warming stations from 4:45-6:15pm

Clean Up Crew: Two volunteers needed to clean serving stations and items dirtied during service, from 6-7pm.

Caring Ministries Volunteer 
Opportunities: 

Volunteers to serve in-home communion once a month: Provided by request to individuals who desire to have communion brought to their home on the first Sunday of each month.  Helen Ingram,  251-923-6543,  

Note Ministries: Offering love and support to our members thorough notes & cards to offer a word of encouragement and a means to stay connected with our members so we can care and nurture them.  Several areas of note writing available. Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or . 

Visitation: Visit members who are living in local assisted living facilities. Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or

Birthday/ Anniversary Callers: Call our church family to offer birthday or anniversary wishes. Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or

Prayer Team: If you would like to serve on a prayer team to enhance our prayer ministry, you are encouraged to contact Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or   

Email Prayer Chain: Receive notices prayer requests for our church family and community. There are no meetings for the prayer email. Maintained by Mary Lucas. Contact the church office to submit your name to be on the email prayer chain. Mary Lucas: 251-928-1148 or

Funeral Food Ministry: Provides meals for funeral reception. Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or   

RTC Ministry: Provides ride to church or doctor appointments for members who are unable to drive. Contact Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or   

Flower Ministry: Volunteers needed to rearrange and deliver altar flowers on occasion to church members. Contact Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or  

Durable Medical Loan Closet: Provides medical equipment at no cost.  Equipment is on loan and then returned to the closet for others to use.  Volunteers needed to pick up & distribute medical equipment. Contact Hazel Odom or Charles Scearce, through the church office 251-928-1148. 

Knit/Crochet: If you would like to learn how to knit or crochet or can help teach, please contact Lynn Barnes or Suzan Christensen through the church office 251-928-1148. A kickoff meeting for the fall is planned for September 11th at 9:30 in the Church Library. 

Tough Dogs Chemo Care Bags: Volunteers are always welcome to put Chemo Care Bags together on the second Monday of every month at 1:30 PM to give out to all new cancer patients in Baldwin County.  Contact Mary Hodgkins through the Church office 251-928-1148. 

Drivers to Deliver Gifts to Church Members’ Homes (Quarterly): This is a great way to meet your neighbors. We try to plan delivery routes as close to your home as possible. Ann Pearson: 251-928-1148 or .

Children’s Ministries Volunteer Opportunities:
 

Greeter/Check-In: Help greet and check- in families and children. Sundays, 9:30-10am or Wednesdays, 5:45-6:10pm. Open to adults or youth. 

Sunday School Small Group Leader: Lead our Sunday School classes (PreK, Kindergarten 1st-2nd grades, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th-6th grades). All materials, lessons, and training provided. Sunday Small Group Leaders serve once a month or more. This is great for someone who enjoys teaching and connecting with kids. Open to adults or youth. 

Pier Kids Small Group Leaders: Lead our Wednesday small groups (K-1st, 2nd grade, 3rd-4th grade girls, and 3rd-4th grade boys). This is a weekly commitment from August-May (with exceptions of breaks). All lessons, materials, and training provided. This is great for someone who enjoys building relationships and making meaningful connections with children. Leaders must be 19 or older. 

SWIFT Leaders: Lead our Wednesday night 5th-6th grade program. This is a weekly commitment from August-May (with exceptions of breaks). All lessons, materials, and training provided. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves connecting with kids and helping them shape faith that sticks. Leaders must be 19 or older. 

Children’s Church Assistant: Assist our KidMin team as kids enjoy a video lesson and snack. This is a once a month commitment open to youth or adults. 

Special Events: Assist in planning, decorating, or executing special events such as Breakfast at the Manger or Easter Celebration. Great for someone who wants to be involved in Children’s Ministries, but cannot make a weekly or monthly commitment. Open to youth or adults.
