"Come Now is the Time to Worship"

"Come Now is the Time to Worship"

by Dr. Ann Pearson on June 15, 2020

I have been listening to worship music, and have been so drawn to the song, Come, Now is the Time to Worship.  Worship is truly one of the things we long to do.   Just because we are separated from our Worship building, DO NOT deny yourself the gift of worship.  Many of our daily routines have changed and we are searching to find the anchor that steadies our lives.

Our worship may look different now but we have the same God who has loved us before, who loves us now and will love us in our future days.  In the midst of all that continues to affect us on a daily basis, I hear the words of the song, Come, Now is the Time to Worship.  Worship doesn’t have to be in a building like we have experienced in days past.  It can be anywhere where you and God are in communion with one another.  Particularly in this song, God is asking for your obedience as you surrender your heart to Him.  God wants us to come just as we are, knowing that He created us as beautiful children of God.  No pretense, just being authentic in who we are.  God accepts us each as His child and no one can take that gift or privilege away from us.  We will need to come to Him to confess the burdens on our heart as we bow to our knees.  God is waiting on each of us to come and worship with Him as we travel in this journey of life.  The invitation and door is open.  Want you join in worship with your Heavenly Father today?

Come, now it the time to worship

Come, now is the time to give God your heart

Come, just as you are to worship

Come, just as you are before God, Come (Chorus)

One day ev’ry tongue will confess You are God

One day ev’ry knee will bow

Still the greatest treasure remains for those who gladly choose You now.

Chorus

Willingly we choose to surrender our lives

Willingly our knees will bow
With all our hearts, oh, mind and strength

We gladly choose you now.

Prayer:

Most Gracious and Loving Father, You are an awesome God.  We come before you acknowledging that you are our Lord and Savior.  We want to honor You and praise You for who You are, our Heavenly Father.  You have been our Everything, our Rock and Refuge, our Comforter, our Guiding Light, our Shepherd and our Friend.  You are amazing and we give thanks and praise to You this day.  In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.

My love and prayers,

Ann

Reflect on these scriptures as you worship with your Heavenly Father:

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, and let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.  Psalm 95:1-6

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.  Psalms 96:1-2

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  Psalms 100:2

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. Psalms 100:4

Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.  Psalms 150:6
