"Let Us Pray"

"Let Us Pray"

by Dr. Ann Pearson on March 23, 2020

Prayer is what many of us rely on when we need to draw closer into God’s presence.  This time of conversation with God is intimate and personal.  It can bring a time of reflection that offers insight into our lives and situations we may be facing.  Our conversation is going to require us to speak but as importantly to LISTEN when God speaks.

When did we last stop and take time to be present with our Heavenly Father?  Are our schedules too busy or are we letting our time with God be the last thing we do in the day?  When we put God first all things are possible.  Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

There have been times in our lives where we have prayed and prayed and it seemed our answers were slow to come.  But in God’s timing He has provided beyond our expectations.  As we praise Him for our many blessings, we recall all things that have been added into our lives.  God has given grace upon grace, love and understanding like we have never experienced and probably not even deserved.  Our Heavenly Father gives ALL to His children, not holding anything back because of His unending love.

Jesus found value in taking time away from the crowds to be with His Heavenly Father in prayer.  Jesus prayed for God’s leading in the ministry that He had been called to share with the world.  Christ is the perfect example of using prayer for times of meditation and conversation with God.  Use Lent to enhance your time in praying with your Heavenly Father.  He yearns to have time with you as you sit at His feet.

Prayer

Holy Lord, we come to you as children seeking time with our Father.  When we pray we find comfort in knowing we are not alone.  Your spirit dwells within us when we are sharing intimate moments with you.  Thank you for always being with us. Lord we know and trust that you can bring us through all our challenges.  We lift these things to you in Christ’s Holy Name.   Amen.
