Lord we have traveled this long journey during Lent and it has been hard, exhausting and weary. There have been times we were experiencing heartache in the depths of our soul. We have said, “I can’t do this. I don’t want to do this.” This is not what we envisioned Lent 2020 was going to be. Our world is changing right before our eyes.
Holy week brings us to reviewing our wilderness journey and now we look to the Hope and Everlasting Promise that this world did not end on Good Friday. When we thought all was lost on the cross on that dark Good Friday, God gave us the greatest most unselfish gift, of His son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. Jesus became the Sacrificial Lamb of God for all of us. God’s purpose for restoration was the continuation and fullness of what the plan was to be for our lifetime. We saw Forgiveness, Grace, Humility, Kindness and Love displayed on the cross. God knew there would be trouble in this world and He wanted us to see He was greater than death and could overcome anything.
As the 23rd Psalm says, “The Lord is my Shepherd, …He leadeth me Through the valley…” He didn’t leave us in the depths of our valley He brought us through and He will bring us through in the days ahead.
God wants His children to have an abundant life and live in a personal relationship with Him. He desires us to ask for what we need, seek that personal relationship with Him and knock at His door daily. If we commit to obedience we will be people of faith and our peace and hope will be eternal.
I recently read a devotional from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young and want to share a part of it. “I am a God who gives and gives and gives. When I died for you on the cross, I held back nothing. I poured out My life like a drink offering. Because giving is inherent in MY nature, I search for people who are able to receive in full measure.”
Easter is coming and NOW is the time to celebrate and praise the God that has shown us that resurrection triumphs over death and destruction. Our faith will lead us into new days ahead. God has promised, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.
Prayer:
Loving Father, thank you for showing us that life here on earth is only temporary. Eternal life with You is forever. Death is swallowed up in victory. We will see You and those we love when we enter Your Eternal Home. It will be a day of rejoicing and Hallelujahs when we arrive in Your glorious kingdom. We love you Lord.
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.
My love and prayers,
